Wearing the Ancient Cochrane tartan, Cochrane Pipe Band was formed in 1999 as a recreational Scottish pipe and drum band. Comprising people of all skill levels, membership is drawn from the Kananaskis/ Cochrane/ Calgary corridor and surrounding communities. The Band participates in numerous parades and other events throughout the year to promote an appreciation and enjoyment of traditional highland music. 

The band is led by Pipe Major J.P. Searle and Drum Sergeant Rick Deans. Rick is also the group’s greybeard, having been a founding member of the band when it was formed 25 years ago.
