My Son Ted has been a regular fixture at Water Valley for as far back as anyone can remember! Originally called Tir Na N’og and founded by back in 2000, the band has morphed and evolved and revolved around its two original members Brian Volke and Rob McConnell. While maintaining its allegiance to Celtic music, My Son Ted has not shied away from other forms of Folk, Rock, Canadiana and Americana, including original songs by Brian Volke and vocalist/guitarist/whistle player Christie Simmons. With McConnell on bass and Volke on vocals/guitar and mandolin, the band includes the aforementioned Christie Simmons, Colin Peters on fiddle and vocals, Shawn Kingston on vocals/guitar and mandolin and newly joined Roger Duncan on percussion.

Recording under the name Tir Na N’og, the band released Home Again (2003) and Carmel’s Parlour (2014) under the name My Son Ted.
