​Calvin has always been writing music, even as a young kid. He found his home in hardcore/metal bands as a youth and young adult, but he always had his own acoustic songs going on in the background. He moved back and forth from Australia with his wife over the course of a few years, all the while piecing songs together. He drew inspiration from life, death, faith, and the epic mountain landscapes of his Canadian home. Once he and his family had settled more permanently in Cochrane, he enlisted best friend Jason, his sister Charity, and his wife, Loren, to jam some songs out and The Great Grey was born.
