Better known as Brian Volke and Roger Duncan, this duo has been only been working together for a few months in 2025 with great results. Brian is no stranger to Water Valley, having only missed one in the last 25 years as a member of Tir Na N’og, My Son Ted and as a solo performer. 

Guitarist, vocalist, songwriter Brian Volke has been playing since the age of nine and progressed through musical influences as wide and varied as Johnny Cash, Bruce Cockburn, the Who and the Monkees. Later Brian discovered Celtic music and his path to being a professional musician was set.

As a recording artist Brian has been involved in projects with Tir Na N’og (Home Again 2003), My Son Ted (Carmel’s Parlour 2014) and solo (Acres of Chrome 2021). He’s working on a new one, to be titled Dustbowl Billy. Stay tuned!

Roger Duncan, founder of the One World Drum Company and leader of the World-beat Country (Not saying which country!) Fusion band Scruffyfish is a percussionist extraordinaire with a speciality in West African drumming, among others. This foray into Celtic flavoured music is new to him but he brings his own energy, imagination and drive to the mix.
