Festival Rules

GATE HOURS

The campground gate is CLOSED from 1:00 AM to 9:00 AM daily.

No vehicle entry or exit will be permitted during these hours, except for emergency vehicles.


If you plan to leave or return to the festival, please do so before 1:00 AM or wait until the gates reopen at 9:00 AM.


CHECK-IN & WRISTBANDS

  • Your festival wristband must be worn at all times.
  • Wristbands are required for entry and re-entry.
  • Camping is restricted to registered festival guests only.
  • Please keep your wristband intact for the duration of the festival.


VEHICLES

  • Maximum speed is walking speed throughout the festival grounds and campground.
  • Follow all directions from festival staff and parking attendants.
  • Park only in designated areas.
  • Minimize vehicle movement during the festival to ensure the safety of all guests.


QUIET HOURS

12:00 AM – 8:00 AM

Please respect your fellow campers.

During quiet hours:

  • No amplified music.
  • No excessive noise.
  • No loud generators.
  • Keep voices and campsite activities to a respectful level.


FIRE SAFETY

  • Campfires are only permitted if approved by festival management and current fire regulations.
  • Provincial and municipal fire bans will be strictly enforced.
  • Never leave a fire unattended.
  • Propane appliances must be used safely and responsibly.


ALCOHOL & CANNABIS

  • Alcohol may only be consumed within designated licensed areas or your private campsite, where permitted by law.
  • Outside alcohol is not permitted within licensed festival areas.
  • Please consume alcohol responsibly.
  • Cannabis consumption must comply with Alberta law and is not permitted within licensed areas.
  • Intoxicated, disruptive, or unsafe behaviour will not be tolerated.


PROHIBITED ITEMS

The following items are prohibited:

  • Illegal drugs or drug paraphernalia
  • Weapons of any kind
  • Fireworks or explosives
  • Glass bottles or glass containers
  • Drones without prior written approval
  • Lasers

Any item deemed unsafe by festival management or security

Festival management reserves the right to inspect bags and refuse entry or remove any person violating festival rules.


CAMPGROUND ETIQUETTE

Please help us keep the campground welcoming for everyone.

  • Respect your neighbours.
  • Keep your campsite clean.
  • Dispose of garbage and recycling properly.
  • Leave your campsite in the condition you found it.
  • Be courteous and respectful to other guests.
  • Report any concerns to festival staff.


MINORS

All guests under the age of 18 must remain under the supervision of their parent or legal guardian at all times, including within the campground.


PETS

Pets are not permitted on festival grounds or in the campground unless prior approval has been granted by festival management.

Approved service animals are always welcome.


Any approved pets must:

  • Remain on a leash at all times.
  • Be under the owner's control.
  • Not create a nuisance or safety concern.
  • Owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets.


Festival management reserves the right to require any animal to be removed if it causes a disturbance or poses a safety concern.


EMERGENCIES

If you require assistance, immediately notify the nearest:

  • Festival Staff
  • Volunteer
  • Security Personnel
  • First Aid Team
  • Emergency vehicle access routes must remain clear at all times.

FAQs

  • When is the festival?

    The Water Valley Arts & Music Festival takes place August 21–23, 2026 at Fallentimber Meadery in Water Valley, Alberta.

  • What are the gate hours?

    Gate opening times and daily schedules will be posted on our website and social media prior to the festival.

  • Can I leave and re-enter the festival?

    Yes. Festival attendees will receive a wristband allowing re-entry throughout the weekend.

  • What forms of payment are accepted?

    Most vendors will accept debit and credit cards. Some vendors may also accept cash.

  • Is camping included?

    Tent camping is included with all Weekend Passes and Youth Passes (must bring your own tent).

  • What if I'm bringing an RV?

    Only one person per RV is required to purchase an RV Pass. All additional occupants must purchase a Weekend Pass or Youth Pass (no connections will be provided). This simply reserves a spot on the ground for your RV/Camper to be parked.

  • When can I check in?

    Camping check-in begins on Friday. Departure is required by Monday morning.

  • Can I reserve a campsite?

    Camping is first-come, first-served unless otherwise specified by the festival.

  • Are generators allowed?

    Yes, provided they are safely operated and used respectfully. Generator use will be restricted during designated quiet hours.

  • Are campfires permitted?

    Campfires are only permitted at a central designated area managed by staff. Individual fires are not permitted. 

  • Are pets allowed?

    Pets are not allowed. 

  • Are washrooms available?

    Yes. Portable washrooms and handwashing stations will be located throughout the festival and camping areas.

  • Can children attend?

    Yes. WVAMF is a family-friendly event.

  • Do minors need supervision?

    Yes. All attendees under 18 years of age must be accompanied by and remain under the supervision of their parent or legal guardian throughout the festival and camping areas.

  • Can I bring my own alcohol?

    No. Outside alcohol is not permitted within the licensed festival areas.

  • Is alcohol available for purchase?

    Yes. Alcohol will be available within designated licensed areas. Government-issued photo identification is required, and service will comply with all AGLC regulations.

  • Is cannabis permitted?

    Cannabis must be consumed in accordance with Alberta law and only in areas where permitted. Consumption is not allowed within licensed areas or any area where prohibited by law or festival policy.

  • Will bags be checked?

    Yes. Security personnel may inspect bags, backpacks, coolers, and other personal belongings upon entry.

  • What items are prohibited?

    Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:

    • Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia
    • Weapons of any kind
    • Fireworks or explosives
    • Outside alcohol within licensed areas
    • Glass containers
    • Drones are not permitted
    • Any item deemed unsafe by festival security

  • Is there medical assistance on-site?

    First Aid will be available throughout the festival. In the event of an emergency, please notify the nearest volunteer, security staff member, or visit the First Aid Station.

  • What happens if severe weather occurs?

    Festival organizers continuously monitor weather conditions. In the event of severe weather or another emergency, instructions will be provided through the public address system, staff, and festival communications. Please follow all directions from event personnel.
