Festival Rules

To help ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, attendees are expected to:

  • Respect fellow festival-goers, performers, volunteers, vendors, and staff.
  • Follow all instructions provided by festival personnel.
  • Keep campsites clean and dispose of waste responsibly.
  • Observe quiet hours within the campground.
  • Respect private property and the natural environment.
  • Report any safety concerns immediately.
  • Refrain from disruptive, violent, or illegal behaviour.

Festival organizers reserve the right to refuse entry or remove any individual whose behaviour compromises the safety or enjoyment of others.

  • When is the festival?

    The Water Valley Arts & Music Festival takes place August 21–23, 2026 at Fallentimber Meadery in Water Valley, Alberta.

  • What are the gate hours?

    Gate opening times and daily schedules will be posted on our website and social media prior to the festival.

  • Can I leave and re-enter the festival?

    Yes. Festival attendees will receive a wristband allowing re-entry throughout the weekend.

  • What forms of payment are accepted?

    Most vendors will accept debit and credit cards. Some vendors may also accept cash.

  • Is camping included?

    Tent camping is included with all Weekend Passes and Youth Passes (must bring your own tent).

  • What if I'm bringing an RV?

    Only one person per RV is required to purchase an RV Pass. All additional occupants must purchase a Weekend Pass or Youth Pass (no connections will be provided). This simply reserves a spot on the ground for your RV/Camper to be parked.

  • When can I check in?

    Camping check-in begins on Friday. Departure is required by Monday morning.

  • Can I reserve a campsite?

    Camping is first-come, first-served unless otherwise specified by the festival.

  • Are generators allowed?

    Yes, provided they are safely operated and used respectfully. Generator use will be restricted during designated quiet hours.

  • Are campfires permitted?

    Campfires are only permitted at a central designated area managed by staff. Individual fires are not permitted. 

  • Are pets allowed?

    Pets are not allowed. 

  • Are washrooms available?

    Yes. Portable washrooms and handwashing stations will be located throughout the festival and camping areas.

  • Can children attend?

    Yes. WVAMF is a family-friendly event.

  • Do minors need supervision?

    Yes. All attendees under 18 years of age must be accompanied by and remain under the supervision of their parent or legal guardian throughout the festival and camping areas.

  • Can I bring my own alcohol?

    No. Outside alcohol is not permitted within the licensed festival areas.

  • Is alcohol available for purchase?

    Yes. Alcohol will be available within designated licensed areas. Government-issued photo identification is required, and service will comply with all AGLC regulations.

  • Is cannabis permitted?

    Cannabis must be consumed in accordance with Alberta law and only in areas where permitted. Consumption is not allowed within licensed areas or any area where prohibited by law or festival policy.

  • Will bags be checked?

    Yes. Security personnel may inspect bags, backpacks, coolers, and other personal belongings upon entry.

  • What items are prohibited?

    Prohibited items include, but are not limited to:

    • Illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia
    • Weapons of any kind
    • Fireworks or explosives
    • Outside alcohol within licensed areas
    • Glass containers
    • Drones without prior authorization
    • Any item deemed unsafe by festival security

  • Is there medical assistance on-site?

    First Aid will be available throughout the festival. In the event of an emergency, please notify the nearest volunteer, security staff member, or visit the First Aid Station.

  • What happens if severe weather occurs?

    Festival organizers continuously monitor weather conditions. In the event of severe weather or another emergency, instructions will be provided through the public address system, staff, and festival communications. Please follow all directions from event personnel.
